If you've forgotten your Windows 7 password, there's no need to panic. There are a few different ways that you can reset your password, and we'll walk you through each one.If you have a Windows 7 installation disc, you can use it to create a System Repair Disc, which you can then use to reset your password. If you don't have a Windows 7 installation disc, you can create a System Repair Disc from another computer that is running Windows 7.Once you have a System Repair Disc, insert it into the computer that you need to reset the password for, and boot from the disc. On the first screen, select your language and keyboard layout, and then click Next.On the next screen, select Repair your computer.On the next screen, select the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.On the next screen, select Command Prompt.At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press Enter:copy c:\windows\system32\utilman.exe c:\windows\system32\utilman.exe.bakThis will backup the utilman.exe file, which is the file that is used to launch the Utility Manager.Next, type the following command, and then press Enter:copy c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe c:\windows\system32\utilman.exeThis will replace the utilman.exe file with cmd.exe, which is the Command Prompt.Now, reboot the computer, and on the login screen, click the Utility Manager icon. This will launch the Command Prompt.At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press Enter:net userThis will list all of the user accounts on the computer.To reset the password for a user account, type the following command, and then press Enter:net user username passwordReplace username with the name of the user account that you want to reset the password for, and replace password with the new password.Once you have reset the password, type the following command, and then press Enter:exitThis will close the Command Prompt.Now, you can login to the computer with the new password.If you don't have a Windows 7 installation disc or a System Repair Disc, you can use a third-party tool called Kon-Boot to reset your password. Kon-Boot is a bootable CD that allows you to login to a computer without knowing the password.Once you have downloaded Kon-Boot, burn it to a CD or USB drive.Insert the Kon-Boot CD or USB drive into the computer, and boot from it.On the Kon-Boot screen, select the Windows 7 entry.On the next screen, select the user account that you want to login to.On the next screen, select the Reset Password option.On the next screen, enter the new password, and then click the Reset Password button.Now, you can login to the computer with the new password.If you have a Microsoft account, you can use it to reset your password.Go to the Microsoft account password reset page, and enter the email address, phone number, or Skype ID that you use to sign in to your Microsoft account.On the next screen, enter the characters that you see on the screen, and then click Next.On the next screen, select the option to receive your security code, and then click Next.You will receive a security code via the method that you selected. Enter the security code, and then click Next.On the next screen, enter your new password, and then click Next.Now, you can login to your computer with the new password.
